While no two Clubs are the same, most are organized groups who get together to have fun diving, learn more about scuba, and participate in other fun activities. Many Clubs are located in places similar to our town, but many are on exotic islands (Cobalt Coast is a Ranger-friendly resort). This means there may be a Scuba Ranger Club where your family goes on vacation, so you can go diving without your mom and dad! WHAT’S COOL ABOUT SCUBA RANGERS?

HISTORY OF THE SCUBA RANGERS The Scuba Rangers were started in 1999 by Paul Oberle, owner of Adventure Sports in Shreveport, Louisiana, Instructor Certifier affiliated with Scuba Schools International (SSI). For 12 months he conducted a pilot program at his store, in association with Scuba Schools International. Paul pioneered children-specific training techniques, new terminology and educational philosophies, with the assistance of SSI Instructor Ashley Rosenthal. Read what was said about Paul at the 2000 Dema Dealers Convention. See Mr. Pauls contribution to the upcoming book Diving with Legends. Scuba Schools International then worked with Paul to develop detailed instructional manuals and education products based on his programs. Click here to visit the official Scuba Rangers website. MISSION OF THE SCUBA RANGERS The mission of Scuba Rangers is simple: to involve children in snorkeling and scuba diving and pass along the excitement of water exploration. Our goal is for thousands and thousands of kids to develop a long-term affinity with the sport of scuba diving by the time they are 12 years old. The intent is that when they become adults, and are making recreational decisions, they will retain the affinity for scuba diving and pursue it as their passion. HOW TO GET STARTED It’s easy! Just ask a grownup to call us about signing up. The program is five sessions (four (4) hours per session) and includes all Scuba Diving equipment. *COST Scuba Ranger Program - $250.00 Each participant must purchase his or her own mask and snorkel only.
