The Swim School has the most awesome team of people. They love children and are: creative, interesting, civic minded, compassionate, funny, smart, and know swimming!
Elaine: TSS Shreveport Facility Manager, Swim Schools International (SSI) Master Trainer Certifier, Adaptive Aquatics Teacher, Special Oympics National Trainer, Swim Team Coach
Elaine boasts that she is the team member who has been at The Swim School the longest, 8+ years, and has loved every minute of it! As a child, Elaine swam competitively and was a member of the COSST State Swim Team for several seasons. She began teaching swim lessons at the age of 18 and has been at it ever since. In 2009, Elaine graduated from LSUS with a degree in Public Relations.
As a member of the writing team for Swim Schools International, Elaine also hold certifications as a Master Trainer, which means she is experienced at all levels of the SSI swim program. Elaine has also earned certifications as an Adaptive Aquatics Teacher, and a Special Olympics National Trainer. In June, 2014, Elaine will attend the Special Olympics National Games in New Jersey, serving as the Aquatics Coach for the state of Louisiana. Along with training new teachers, she also serves as the assistant coach for the TSS swim team, the head coach for our Special Olympic team, is head of promotions and PR, and the developer of the Pools In Schools water safety awareness campaign as well as the Facility Manager at The Swim School of Shreveport.
Mrs. Elaine recently got married in Las Vegas and spends her spare time with her husband, friends and cat, Mr. Pickles. She also enjoys riding four wheelers, fishing and spending time outside. But her all time favorite past time is dancing!
Natasha: Level 1, Level 2, Baby & Me Teacher, Adult Teacher
Natasha graduated C.E.Byrd High School in 2010. She plans to attend BPCC with a goal of becoming a certified physical therapy assistant. Her hobbies are playing basketball and playing the piano. She has been playing both for over 15 years. Natasha learned to swim when she was in diapers and has been swimming ever since, about 20 years now. She has always had a passion for being in the water. Natasha has been teaching at The Swim School for a year now and really enjoys making a difference in children’s lives by teaching the fundamentals of swimming and water safety.
Frances: Deck Manager, and Level 1, Level 2, Baby & Me Teacher, Swim Team Coach, Special Olympics Coach
Frances has been teaching swim lessons at The Swim School for three years. She loves working at The Swim School. Frances also coaches the swim team with Leah and Elaine. She has always enjoyed working with kids and loves swimming. Frances is a Yale University graduate with a degree in religious studies. Before coming to The Swim School, she spent three years working on political campaigns. Currently a graduate student at Centenary College in Education, Frances also does community organizing with Louisiana Progress Action and with Equality Louisiana. She is actively involved in her church, Church for the Highlands. Her hobbies include camping, gardening, cooking, knitting, and reading, especially the Harry Potter books.
Sheri: Greeter
Sheri is a retired kindergarten and preschool teacher, and is married to Lennie Lyle. They have two children and two granddaughters. Sheri enjoys sewing, monogramming, French Hand sewing, reading all kinds of books, and doing paper art projects. One of her favorite sayings is “it’s never too late to be who you really are”. Sheri believes our lives are works in progress and everyday new challenges are presented to us. It is our job to keep learning and evolving into whoever we really are. One last bit of information, Sheri is the third oldest person working at TSS!
Tyler M. - Deck Manager, Level 1, Level 2, Baby & Me, and Adult Teacher, Special Olympics Coach
Tyler is 22 years old and has been working with The Swim School since he was 16. During that time he has taught pretty much every skill level on our lesson plans, covering babies up to 70 year old adults. Tyler currently is in nursing school pursuing a BSN and plans on working in pediatric oncology. He love working with kids and plan to do so for the rest of his life. When he is not at work or school, he stay pretty active, either working out, or training in mixed martial arts. Music and art have always been a big passion for Tyler, therefore he currently sketches and has played violin for around 10 years. Tyler loves working with The Swim School because they have always been caring and flexible, and he says TSS has given him fantastic opportunities to work with children, assisting him in discovering what he wants to do the rest of his life.
Georgie Sutton: Accounts Receivable Manager and Party Photographer
Georgie started at TSS in 2006, and loves her job as my job. She has, “one husband - Bobby, one dog - Pork Chop, and one horse - Peanut.” Georgie and Bobby enjoy going to LSU games every chance they get. She rides, and competes with Peanut every chance she gets. Georgie is a graduate of BPCC with an Associate’s in Computer Information Systems.
Ricco W. - Deck Manager, Level 1, Level 2, Baby & Me Teacher, Special Olympics Coach
Ricco has been teaching at The Swim School for just over 4 years. “This is the greatest job ever!” He is completing his senior year at LSU-S, majoring in Community Health. Ricco’s goals are to become a physical therapist or a football coach. He learned to swim at 4 years old and swam competitively for 3 years between the ages of 7 – 10. At the age of 16 Ricco added a lifeguard certification to his swim qualifications. Ricco says he loves working at TSS because he gets to teach kids a very important life skill. He says, “There is no better feeling than knowing I taught someone a skill they will remember for the rest of their life.”
Maddie: Level 1 Teacher
Maddie started working at the Swim School in the spring of 2014. She has always been an athlete. She was on the swim team for three years, and her favorite stroke was backstroke. She has played soccer for most of her life, and now plays varsity soccer, as a junior, for Loyola. Maddie has always been passionate about working with children. She is really looking forward to having fun with the kids, while teaching them how to swim.

My name is Phillip. I am 27 years old, and was born in the small town of Rayne in south Louisiana. All my life I have been called a “kid person”. Through high school I worked as a camp counselor and in college I travel ed with a kids/youth ministry team. I am currently an art teacher at Barret Paideia Academy in Shreveport Louisiana. I love swimming and I love hanging out with kids. There is a certain joy that young ones bring to the world they we seem to lose when we grow up, and I am glad to be a part of their world every day.
Taylor: Level 1 and Level 2 Teacher Taylor graduated from Parkway in 2011 and is now a Junior at Southern University to become a Registered Nurse. She has been teaching swim lessons for 6 years, and has been teaching at The Swim School for 2 years. When she was 15, she became certified as a lifeguard. 3 years later, she became certified as a water safety instructor and worked for Bossier Parks. She is so thankful to be a part of our team. She loves her job at the swim school and enjoys watching her students grow and learn each week.
