Recreational Swim Team

Philosophy

We are a recreational swim team that caters to children wishing to swim in meets while still having fun. We practice two days a week with a focus on learning the proper technique of all four competitive strokes. It is not all hard work though. We leave time for games and team activities. Parents, if you want your children to learn values such as team work and goal setting while still loving what they are doing, we might be the team for you.

Hi! My name is Elaine Ramoz. I’ve been working at TSS since 2006. I swam competitively for five years for the City of Shreveport Swim Team. I also played competitive softball for twelve years. By playing sports I learned a lot about sportsmanship, goal setting and team work. On The Swim School Swim Team we instill these qualities in our kids. I love to win but our most important goal here is to have fun! I love watching our swimmers improve through out the season! I can’t wait for another record setting season this summer! We look forward to having everyone! Fun Fact: I love to sing and dance in the car. Especially to Gloria Estefan!

Coach – Frances Kelley

I have been teaching swim lessons for five years and I love working at The Swim School.  I also coach the swim team with Elaine, Taylor and Ricco.  I have always enjoyed working with kids and I love swimming.  I graduated from Yale University with a degree in religious studies.  Before coming to The Swim School I spent three years working on political  campaigns. Currently I am a graduate student at Centenary College in Education.  I also do community organizing with Louisiana Progress Action, Equality Louisiana, and 350 Louisiana.  I am actively involved in my church, Church for the Highlands.  I like camping, gardening, cooking, knitting, and reading, especially the Harry Potter books.

Coach – Ricco Williams

I have been working at The Swim School for 5 years. Nothing is more fun and rewarding than teaching kids how to swim. I was a swim team member for 4 years when I was 6 years old. I graduated from LSU-Shreveport in Pre-Physical Therapy and Physical Activity. I am currently a graduate student at LSU School of Allied Health in the Master’s of Public Health. PT school is my next educational adventure in 2017 hopefully! God is a big component in my life and thank Him everyday for the opportunities He has given me. I am an avid sports fan and play almost every sport. TSS is the best!!  (Thank you Ricco!)

Coach – Taylor Williams

I have been teaching swimming lessons for 8 years.  Prior to coming to The Swim School in 2012 I taught for Bossier Parks and Recreation.  I ablosutely love my job here at The Swim School.  It brings so much joy to me to see the children grow and progress every week.  I am delighted to have the opportunity to coach the swim team in 2016. Currently I am enrolled at both BPCC and LSUS.  I am working towards a bachelor’s degree in secondary education specializing in biology.  I will graduate in 2017 and I hope to coach swim team where ever I go.  I have a puppy and 2 kitties.  Spending time with my family and boyfriend is very important.  My hobbies include swimming, working out, and shopping.
